Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Sarbinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Beam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yuri Sarbinov!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beam decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Sarbinov manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sarbinov wants to stand up but Beam is controlling him.
Sarbinov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Beam.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Beam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sarbinov looking for a sweep. Not yet Sarbinov, not yet.
Beam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sarbinov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Beam drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beam jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Beam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sarbinov sprawls well initially but Beam persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Beam is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sarbinov is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Beam has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Beam takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Sarbinov bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Sarbinov has Beam pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sarbinov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beam tumbling to the mat - Sarbinov dives into Beam's guard.
Sarbinov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sarbinov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Beam has his foot on Sarbinov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sarbinov works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Beam is looking for a kimura but Sarbinov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Beam to get the leverage.

Beam is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sarbinov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sarbinov is looking to control Beam's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sarbinov avoid being mounted?

Sarbinov is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Beam defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Sarbinov shoots in but Beam avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sarbinov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Sarbinov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Beam kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Beam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sarbinov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

I would just about give that final round to Yuri Sarbinov.
