Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Channel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Clark Channel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Tate! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate misses with a looping right. Clark Channel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tate takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Channel throws a sloppy head kick and Tate moves out of range easily. Channel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Tate shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tate was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Tate throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Channel really wants to buck Tate off and get back to his feet. Tate throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Tate lands a nice shot to the head. Poor strikes thrown by Tate there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's one minute gone in the round. Channel is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Tate scoring with strikes but Channel is staying in there. Tate controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tate in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Channel is rocked! Channel blocking the ground and pound. Tate is in the full mount, landing strikes. Oh Channel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Tate throws some wild stikes that Channel manages to avoid easily.
Channel seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Channel looks a forlorn figure.
Tate dominating with strikes here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Channel takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Tate's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Tate!
