Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ville rantanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Paulig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rantanen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. rantanen showed some decent athleticism there.
rantanen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Paulig has hold of rantanen's hands but rantanen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
rantanen tries to close the distance and clinch but Paulig swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - rantanen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

rantanen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

rantanen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Paulig with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. rantanen connects with a nice short shot to Paulig's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Paulig has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics rantanen uses from the top position.

Well rantanen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
