Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Behamey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Kuritz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle Kuritz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Kuritz!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Behamey misses with an uppercut.
Kuritz shoots in but no luck this time.
Kuritz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Behamey but Behamey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Marcus Behamey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Kuritz.
Kuritz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Kuritz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Behamey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Behamey makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Behamey tries to bum rush Kuritz with a series of wild strikes but Kuritz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kyle Kuritz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuritz shoots in but Behamey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kuritz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kuritz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Behamey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kuritz somewhat.
Behamey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kuritz circles away quickly and effectively.
Kuritz slips a jab and a cross from Behamey.
Behamey throws an overhand right that lands on Kuritz's shoulder, as Kuritz tries to avoid the shot.
Behamey slaps away a takedown attempt from Kuritz, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Behamey throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Behamey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Behamey wants it to stay on the feet.
Kuritz closes the distance and clinches up with Behamey, looking for a takedown. Kuritz pushes Behamey against the cage but Behamey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kuritz looks gassed!

Kuritz shoots in for a takedown but Behamey shows good takedown defense.

Kuritz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Behamey did well to prevent Kuritz getting side control.

Kuritz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Behamey has managed to free his arm - good work.

Kuritz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Behamey is looking to improve his position.

Kuritz wants to free his trapped foot but Behamey is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kuritz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kuritz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kuritz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Behamey is defending against the submission attempts here by Kuritz.

Kuritz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Behamey's waist but Behamey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kuritz off to one side.

Behamey thuds his right hand into Kuritz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


It looks like Kyle Kuritz has been cut.

Behamey leaves Kuritz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kuritz needs to keep his hands up - Behamey had a free shot at his head there.

Behamey clinches up with Kuritz and pushes him back against the cage.

Kuritz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Behamey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kuritz has his foot on Behamey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Behamey works his way back into a safe position though.

Kuritz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Behamey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kuritz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Behamey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Behamey sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kuritz's guard.
Kuritz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Behamey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Behamey's back!

This has been an exciting period of action!
