Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Pietersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Lisnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Pietersen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Michael Lisnar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Pietersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Lisnar!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pietersen moves in looking to clinch but Lisnar pushes him off.

Pietersen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lisnar uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Lisnar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pietersen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lisnar!

Pietersen jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lisnar is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lisnar and Pietersen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pietersen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pietersen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pietersen decides to stand back up. Pietersen steps back and let's Lisnar get back to his feet.

Lisnar shoots in and bounces Pietersen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lisnar stands up over Pietersen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Lisnar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pietersen's head.
Lisnar won't allow Pietersen to get back to his feet.

Lisnar throws and elbow that misses. Pietersen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lisnar's guard. Nice move by Pietersen!

Lisnar pushes Pietersen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Pietersen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lisnar.

Lisnar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pietersen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lisnar darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Lisnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pietersen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Pietersen pulls Lisnar in close to his closed guard and prevents Lisnar from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pietersen tries to strike from the bottom.
Lisnar throws a strike but Pietersen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lisnar pushes Pietersen off and gets back to his feet.

Lisnar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pietersen did well to prevent Lisnar getting side control.
Pietersen is looking to control Lisnar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pietersen avoid being mounted?

Michael Lisnar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Pietersen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lisnar pinned against the cage. Lisnar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lisnar connects with a nice short shot to Pietersen's temple.

Michael Lisnar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lisnar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
