Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Strauss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mad Hatter!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strauss is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hatter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Strauss but Strauss pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Strauss tries to clinch there but Hatter circles away.
Strauss fails with the takedown

and Hatter counters with a shoot takedown. Strauss fights it but they end up in guard.

Strauss working for a triangle but Hatter defends it easily.
Hatter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hatter wants to control from the top but Strauss keeps moving.
Strauss being controlled here, momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatter cracks Strauss with a solid left hand.
Hatter throwing strikes from guard but Strauss blocks nicely.
Strauss has Hatter pulled in close to control his posture.
Hatter throws a big right hand that misses.
Hatter stops Strauss from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strauss keeping moving, preventing Hatter from controlling successfully.
Hatter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hatter throwing strikes but missing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hatter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Strauss counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hatter tries to get to full guard but Strauss has control of the leg.
Hatter landing a few short strikes.

Strauss is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hatter is just riding it out for now. Strauss eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strauss prevents Hatter from improving his position.

Hatter is trying to control Strauss's posture. Strauss takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Hatter! Strauss is rotating here... this could be the end... Hatter is out! Strauss has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
