Rogers kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Get up. Burns III comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Off with his head- Big Pun kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Eugene Burns III has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Rogers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Burns III dives in and grabs Rogers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rogers pushes down on Burns III's head and hops out.
Burns III throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Burns III moves out of range as Rogers strikes.

Rogers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Burns III looks to land a left hand but Rogers moved out of range nicely.
Burns III swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Burns III fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rogers avoids it really well and circles away.
Burns III shoots in for a takedown but Rogers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cody Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eugene Burns III.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Rogers has cracked Burns III with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Rogers lands another huge swinging hook and Burns III tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Burns III, before Rogers can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Cody Rogers!
