Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Floyd Forward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forward has chosen KRS1 - Ova here as his entrance music. Floyd Forward has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Floyd Forward!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Forward did well to prevent Hall getting side control.
Hall is taking a breather. Forward says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Forward wants to control but Hall is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hall wants to take a breather but Forward is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hall decides to return to a standing position.
Forward looks to land a combination but Hall avoids it well.
Forward fails in his attempt to clinch.

Forward misses with a double jab.
Forward tries to close the distance and clinch but Hall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No joy there for Forward, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hall gets to his feet - Forward follows without any prompting.

Hall buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Hall drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hall landing a few strikes.
Forward is not content to let Hall control the position.

Hall working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hall tries for a kimura but Forward is defending well.

Hall swings around for an armbar but Forward sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hall's guard.
Forward is looking to work some ground and pound but Hall has wrist control.
Forward postures up.
Forward pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hall is keeping the position for now.

Hall throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Hall wriggles free and stands up.
Hall tries to clinch up but Forward circles away and keeps his distance.
Forward is looking to clinch but Hall is avoiding it.
Hall avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hall is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Forward can't fight it off and eventually Hall manages to take the fight to the floor. Forward looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Forward is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hall is aware though and is defending well.
Hall postures up and lands a big shot to Forward's brow.

Hall is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Forward is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Forward has escaped and now he's on top!

Forward goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hall instigates a clinch.

Hall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Forward throws a right and a left that both miss.
Forward darts in trying to clinch

and Hall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Forward's guard now.
Hall works over Forward with some ground and pound from guard.
Hall pushes down on Forward's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dan Hall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Forward wants to control but Hall is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hall seems to be looking for submissions.

Hall decides to return to a standing position.
A punch combination from Forward misses.

Hall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Forward looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Forward is looking to regain half guard here but Hall keeps moving and retains side control.

Hall decides to stand back up.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hall.
Hall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Forward's waist but Forward gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hall off to one side.

and Hall counters with a one-two to the body.

Forward scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Hall drives through and clinches with Forward against the cage.

Hall breaks from the clinch.
Forward fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Forward looks to land a combination but Hall avoids it well.
Hall tries to clinch up but Forward circles away and keeps his distance.
Forward wants to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Forward looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Floyd Forward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hall has Forward up against the cage in a clinch.

Hall breaks the clinch.
Forward looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Forward is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hall pulls his head out easily.
Hall slows the pace down in half guard.
Forward wants to get back to his feet.
Hall is keen to just control but Forward is a slippery customer.
Forward tries to roll over but Hall keeps him under control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, if Hall is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Forward is staying active underneath Hall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Forward fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hall misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Forward throws a combination that misses

and Hall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Forward's guard.
Hall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hall wants to control from the top but Forward keeps moving.
Forward can't keep his opponent in guard - Hall advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Forward clinches but Hall breaks the clinch

and Hall counters by clinching up.
Forward has had enough of the clinch but Hall keeps him there for the moment.
Forward wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Hall tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hall is trying to drag Forward to the mat but Forward just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Forward wants to break the clinch but can't.
Forward takes an elbow to the temple.
Hall is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Forward just stands there and leans against the cage.
Forward wants to get back to striking at distance but Hall won't allow it.

Forward wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hall has him pressed against the cage.
Hall is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Forward prevents the takedown attempt.

Forward is pressed up against the cage. Hall has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Forward down to the mat. Forward avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hall takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hall could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Forward misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Forward is not content to let Hall control the position.
Forward flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Forward wants to get back to his feet.
Hall seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Hall counters with a single leg into guard. Forward didn't expect that.
Forward is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hall distracts Forward with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Forward wants to control but Hall postures up.
Floyd Forward has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dan Hall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Hall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
