Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Whats Nutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nutz might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man . Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Whats Nutz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grant Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kennedy scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Nutz avoids the head kick by Kennedy.
Left hook, right uppercut from Nutz. Nutz throws a leg kick but Kennedy sees it coming and checks it nicely. Nutz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kennedy circles away quickly and effectively. Nutz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Kennedy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kennedy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nutz tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kennedy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kennedy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kennedy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nutz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kennedy is looking to advance position but Nutz won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nutz actively working from the bottom here. Kennedy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nutz sees it coming and defends easily. Kennedy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nutz defends it well. Kennedy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nutz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Kennedy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nutz keeps working. Kennedy moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Nutz. Kennedy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nutz is trying to get back to half guard. Kennedy goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nutz has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kennedy but great work by Nutz. Sloppy strikes there by Nutz. Nutz creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kennedy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Kennedy manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nutz's best efforts. Nutz is trying to work for a kimura but Kennedy is defending well.

Kennedy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nutz is fending him off so far but Kennedy persists. Nope, Nutz circles away and we're back to standing. Nutz avoids the body shot from Kennedy.
Kennedy throws a body punch but Nutz moves out of range. Kennedy throws a wild body kick that Nutz sees coming a mile off. Grant Kennedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kennedy. Nutz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nutz throws a right and a left that Kennedy avoids nicely. Kennedy takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Whats Nutz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kennedy scores with a hook to the body. Nutz takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kennedy, right into the meat.

That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Nutz. Kennedy does a little dance to reset his feet. Nutz scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Nutz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kennedy. Whats Nutz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant Kennedy. Kennedy swinging wildly here.
A slow jab from Kennedy misses its intended target. Nutz lands a glancing blow to the side of Kennedy's head. No joy there for Kennedy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kennedy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nutz finds it's way round the side to connect with Kennedy's head. Kennedy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nutz. A combination from Kennedy does no damage. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kennedy. Nutz is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nutz gets caught flat footed, as Kennedy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Nutz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kennedy pushes down on Nutz's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kennedy is keen to just control but Nutz is a slippery customer. Kennedy works his way into full mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kennedy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Nutz manages to avoid the submission attempt. Nutz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Grant Kennedy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nutz is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kennedy is defending well though. Nutz let's go of the attempt for now. Kennedy breaks Nutz's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
