PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julius Sance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: We Aint Never Scared. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julius Sance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Gibson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sance shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sance showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sance is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gibson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sance.

Sance wants to take a breather but Gibson is having none of it.

Gibson is concentrating on defense, preventing Sance from advancing position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sance shoots in and bounces Gibson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Sance stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gibson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sance closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gibson circles away.
Gibson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sance as he avoids it easily.

Sance drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gibson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gibson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gibson!
Gibson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sance keeps working.
Sance is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gibson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Sance is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gibson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Tyson Gibson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sance throws a strike aimed at the side of Gibson's head but Gibson avoids it well.

Sance has hold of Gibson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gibson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sance cranks the arm and Gibson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gibson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Julius Sance!
