Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Makin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jabez Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makin comes to the cage accompanied by Shinedown - Simple Man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erik Makin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, jabez Williams! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams tries to clinch but Makin is having none of it. Williams leaves Makin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Makin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Makin slips a jab and a cross from Williams.
Erik Makin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Williams does no damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Makin dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on Makin's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erik Makin. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Makin. Makin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makin is looking for a kimura but Williams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Makin to get the leverage. Williams won't allow Makin to pass to mount. Makin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Makin passes to side control. Makin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Williams pushes Makin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Makin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to bench press Makin off him but Makin keeps the position. Makin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Williams wants to get back to his feet. Williams can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Makin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Williams has escaped the position, nice work there. Williams wants to control but Makin postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Makin has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Williams! Williams wants to hold on but Makin pushes him away. Makin tries to control but Williams wriggling away. Makin looking to secure an arm triangle but Williams defends it well. Makin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Williams manages to avoid the submission attempt. Makin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Makin is breathing heavily. Makin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Makin has just dragged him back down to the mat. Makin is chipping away with strikes.
Williams tries to bench press Makin off him but Makin keeps the position. Makin advances nicely into full mount. Williams really wants to buck Makin off and get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Makin has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Williams is forced to tap!
