Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Laurent Tsadyleba! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shaka Zulu! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tsadyleba fails to land with a series of punches.
Tsadyleba tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tsadyleba fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tsadyleba closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Good shot there by Zulu. Tsadyleba will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tsadyleba shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zulu as he avoids it easily. Tsadyleba looks for a takedown but Zulu sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Laurent Tsadyleba. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tsadyleba is defended easily by Zulu. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Zulu.
Tsadyleba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zulu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Tsadyleba is looking for a sweep. Zulu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tsadyleba trying to control but Zulu postures up.
Zulu seems to be working for a kimura but Tsadyleba defends the submission attempt. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zulu working the head and body with strikes. Zulu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tsadyleba doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zulu. Zulu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tsadyleba tries to get to full guard but Zulu has control of the leg. Zulu trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tsadyleba trying to control from the bottom.

Tsadyleba tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tsadyleba shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Zulu counters with a nice leg kick. Tsadyleba is breathing heavily. Zulu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Zulu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Zulu missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Zulu is looking for a kimura but Tsadyleba is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zulu to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zulu keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Zulu moves into full mount! Tsadyleba won't be happy about that! Zulu wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. A nice elbow there by Zulu. Tsadyleba is working to get back to half guard.
Zulu quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Zulu but it's paid off an Tsadyleba is forced to tap! Nice work by Zulu.
