Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Nilsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Flynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Flynn has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Nilsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Flynn! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nilsson getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Flynn tries to bum rush Nilsson with a series of wild strikes but Nilsson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Nilsson checks a leg kick. Nilsson clinches. Nilsson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Flynn wants to break free but Nilsson has control.

Matt Flynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nilsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Flynn circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Nilsson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nilsson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Flynn has his takedown stuffed and Nilsson counters with a shoot takedown. Flynn fights it but they end up in guard. Flynn keeping full guard, as Nilsson tries to pass. Nilsson trying to control the position from guard on top but Flynn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nilsson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. That's one minute gone in the round. Nilsson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Flynn wants to stand up but Nilsson is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nilsson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nilsson circles away from the clinch attempt and Nilsson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Flynn's guard. Nilsson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Flynn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Flynn is stalling here.
Flynn jumps guard and drags Nilsson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Nilsson passes Flynn's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Nilsson is breathing heavily. Flynn is trying to maintain the position but Nilsson is very close to passing his half guard. Nilsson is working for a kimura but Flynn is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nilsson is stalling here. Flynn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nilsson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Flynn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Flynn lands a nice forearm strike. Flynn wants to stand but Nilsson is controlling his arm. Nilsson is trying to control Flynn's posture but Flynn avoids it. Flynn tries to stand but Nilsson is controlling his head. Nilsson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nilsson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Flynn working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Nilsson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Flynn's best efforts. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Flynn is nestled in close to Nilsson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Flynn wants to stand up but Nilsson is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Flynn chips away with some ground and pound. Nilsson keeping moving, preventing Flynn from controlling successfully. Nilsson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Flynn is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nilsson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Flynn's back instead. Nilsson doesn't have the hooks in and Flynn manages to turn into his guard.
Nilsson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Nilsson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Flynn is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Nilsson pulls his head out easily. Nilsson wants to take a breather but Flynn is having none of it. Nilsson prevents Flynn from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Flynn is trying to stand back up but Nilsson is controlling him
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Flynn moves in looking to clinch but Nilsson pushes him off. A combination from Flynn does no damage. Nice body kick there by Nilsson. Nilsson moves into the clinch successfully.
Flynn turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Flynn manages to end up in side control. Nilsson regains half guard. Nilsson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Flynn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nilsson's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flynn wants to control but Nilsson is keeping him busy. Flynn is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flynn decides to return to a standing position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nilsson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Flynn tries to clinch up. Nice takedown defense from Flynn. No joy for Nilsson on that attempt. Nice shot lands for Flynn. Flynn pushes Nilsson up against the cage in a clinch. Nilsson has Flynn pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Nilsson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Flynn tumbling to the mat - Nilsson dives into Flynn's guard. Flynn keeping moving, preventing Nilsson from controlling successfully. Nilsson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nilsson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Flynn is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nilsson has just dragged him back down to the mat. Nilsson advances to full mount. Nilsson controlling the position easily from mount. Flynn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nilsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flynn is bucking up trying to escape but Nilsson cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Flynn is in all sorts of trouble here.

Flynn tries to reverse the position but Nilsson maintains control. Nilsson unloading with bombs! Nilsson has hold of Flynn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Flynn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Flynn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Flynn is trying to stand but he's just given Nilsson his back. Flynn is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Flynn defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Nilsson trying to control momentarily.
Nilsson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Flynn is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Daniel Nilsson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nilsson is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar!
