Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Howell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Howell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Slade! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howell looks to land a combination but Slade avoids it well. Good exchange - Slade coming out on top. Slade swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Slade throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Slade fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Slade digs a good hook to Howell's body.
Howell misses with a body punch
and Slade counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Howell's guard now. Slade is stalling in the full guard. Slade trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slade controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slade trying to control the position from guard on top but Howell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Howell is pulling down on Slade's head to control his posture. Slade controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Slade trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Slade trying to control the position from guard on top but Howell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Slade pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Howell is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slade on the ground. Slade stands and throws Howell's legs to the side, diving into side control. Howell is trying to escape the position but Slade is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jason Slade just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slade uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Howell. Slade staying out of range there. A telegraphed right hand from Howell misses the target. Howell doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Howell punishes Slade's body with a nice straight punch. Slade uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Howell. Slade moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Slade keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Howell. Howell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Slade.
Howell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Slade was well out of range. Poor timing from Howell. Slade slips under a jab from Howell. Slade stalks Howell and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Howell's face. Howell staggers backwards, shaken. Slade ducks under a wild hook from Howell. Howell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Slade. Slade works over Howell's head and body with a nice combination. A combination from Slade does no damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Slade dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Howell pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Slade keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Slade will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Howell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Howell slips a jab and a cross from Slade.
Howell stuffs the takedown. Howell moves into range and connects with a jab. Slade looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Howell! Slade looking to control but Howell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slade controlling the position easily from mount. Slade has hold of Howell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Howell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Slade can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Howell is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Slade looking to control and managing it successfully. Slade thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slade working for a guillotine from mount but Howell is in no mood to give up. Slade sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Slade is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Howell is forced to tap! Great finish!
