PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between BC Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solid Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hawkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Paint it Black. Solid Snake is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Snake.
Hawkins blocks the body kick.
Hawkins walks into a left hand.
Hawkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Snake circles away.
Hawkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Snake but Snake pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hawkins avoids the head kick by Snake.

Snake drops Hawkins with a right and a left! Snake comes rushing in but Hawkins regains his composure and manages to keep Snake in guard.

It looks like BC Hawkins has been cut.

Snake tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snake has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hawkins tries to buck Snake off but Snake is having none of it.

Snake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawkins keeps working.

Snake thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Snake prevents Hawkins from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hawkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Snake's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Snake's back!

Snake is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hawkins is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Snake to the mat. Snake regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Snake manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Solid Snake seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hawkins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Snake sprawls well. Snake wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hawkins gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawkins shoots in for a double leg but Snake sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hawkins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Snake fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hawkins, pushing him back against the ropes.

Snake is pushing Hawkins up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Snake manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Snake bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hawkins's guard.

Hawkins is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Snake has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hawkins is looking to defend but Snake has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hawkins! Snake pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hawkins taps out and this one is all over!
