The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Porohovoi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bojenko stacks Porohovoi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bojenko!

Bojenko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bojenko takes the fight into the clinch.
Porohovoi is trying to drag Bojenko to the mat but Bojenko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bojenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Porohovoi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Porohovoi has gone for a leg lock! Bojenko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Porohovoi's guard.

Porohovoi is trying to trip Bojenko. He has hold of a leg but Bojenko is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Porohovoi persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Porohovoi working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Porohovoi is trying to control the action in half guard but Bojenko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Bojenko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Bojenko gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Porohovoi to score an easy takedown into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Porohovoi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Porohovoi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Porohovoi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
