Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hideaki Katsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ton Lim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideaki Katsu! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ton Lim! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lim finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Lim tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Katsu was well out of range. Poor timing from Lim. Lim is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Katsu. Lim misses with an uppercut. Katsu saw that one coming. Lim just misses with a punch to the body.
Lim throws a quick inside leg kick. A head kick misses from Lim. The fighters circling - Lim throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lim looks to land a right hand but Katsu moved out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Lim. Katsu does a little dance to reset his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lim misses the shot to the body. Lim throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Katsu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lim sprawls well. Lim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Katsu gets slowly back to his feet. Katsu slips a straight right by Lim.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lim tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Katsu is able to avoid easily. Katsu misses with a takedown attempt - Lim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lim throws a hook to the side of Katsu's head but Katsu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lim throws a head kick but Katsu moves out of range.

Lim lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Katsu dives in and grabs Lim's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lim pushes down on Katsu's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hideaki Katsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Katsu fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lim throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Katsu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Lim throws a quick inside leg kick. Katsu ducks under a wild hook from Lim. Katsu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lim. Lim misses with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Katsu manages to avoid it. Lim swings and misses with a hook to the body.

"I don't think so" says Lim as he avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lim tries a head kick but it misses.

Lim throws a low kick but it's checked well by Katsu. Lim buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Katsu tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Katsu. Lim misses with a looping right. Katsu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lim trying to control from the bottom.
Katsu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Katsu wants to stand up but Lim is controlling the position.

Ton Lim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A shot to de liver by Lim. Beautiful body shot. Katsu closes the distance and clinches up with Lim, looking for a takedown. Katsu pushes Lim against the cage but Lim circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Katsu moves away from the strike by Lim. Excellent takedown into side control there by Katsu. Katsu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lim has escaped the position, nice work there. Katsu looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lim wants to control but Katsu postures up. Katsu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lim, who protects the arm well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lim is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lim is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Katsu thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lim tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Katsu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Katsu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Katsu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lim is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Katsu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lim is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Katsu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lim scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Katsu moves out of range of the leg kick from Lim. Lim tests Katsu's chin there with a solid looking shot. A big left from Lim misses. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lim.
Lim throws a leg kick which misses Katsu's front leg but catches the back leg as Katsu tries to avoid it. Lim throws a nice inside leg kick. Lim jabs at Katsu's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lim stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. The fighters circling - Lim throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Katsu on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lim. Lim obviously looking to wear him down.
Lim lands a nice leg kick that just misses Katsu's sensitive parts. Lim is looking to slow Katsu down with leg kicks. Lim fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Katsu. Lim misses the shot to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Katsu is defended easily by Lim. Katsu on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lim. Lim obviously looking to wear him down.

Lim tried to score with a low kick but Katsu checks it. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lim lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Katsu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Katsu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Lim bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Katsu blocks a leg kick. Lim throws a head kick but Katsu moves out of range.

Lim thuds his right hand into Katsu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Lim thumps Katsu with a low kick. A slapping leg kick lands for Lim.
Katsu misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nice body punch from Lim. Nice takedown defense from Lim. No joy for Katsu on that attempt. Lim misses with a leg kick. Lim looks to land a left hand but Katsu moved out of range nicely. Nice defenses there by Katsu. Lim thows a body shot but no joy.

Ton Lim seems to be getting the better of the standup. Katsu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lim! Lim can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Katsu has control of Lim's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lim regains control of the situation pretty easily.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Lim tries to hold on but Katsu pushes him away. Katsu wants to get back to his feet but Lim is holding on tight.

A close fourth round but Ton Lim will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Katsu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Lim throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Lim throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A good leg kick by Lim.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lim feints and then cracks Katsu's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Katsu down. Lim with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Katsu has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lim finds it's way round the side to connect with Katsu's head. Katsu fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hideaki Katsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Lim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Katsu manages to avoid it. Lim moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A swing and a miss from Lim. Lim turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Lim scores with a jab.

Katsu fails to land the takedown.

Lim cracks the inside of Katsu's front leg. Lim throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Lim looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Lim scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Lim works Katsu's body with a nice hook. Jab by Lim. Katsu checks a leg kick nicely. Hideaki Katsu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lim lands a glancing blow to the side of Katsu's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Ton Lim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Lim winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
