Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lane Pedersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Nguyen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lane Pedersen!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedersen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nguyen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nguyen throws a combination that misses
and Pedersen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Pedersen counters with a left and a right that stings Nguyen.
Nguyen scores with a hook.
Nguyen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pedersen counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nguyen dodges the ground and pound from Pedersen.
Pedersen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nguyen is not content to let Pedersen control the position.
Pedersen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nguyen to see if he's OK.

Pedersen is trying to get an arm triangle but Nguyen is defending well.
Nguyen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nguyen tries to get out of the position.
Pedersen stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Pedersen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Charlie Nguyen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nguyen thows a leg kick but Pedersen checks it
so Pedersen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Pedersen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pedersen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Pedersen is looking to work some ground and pound but Nguyen has wrist control.
Pedersen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Nguyen controls Pedersen momentarily but Pedersen frees himself.

Pedersen lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Pedersen postures up in Nguyen's guard and throws a big left but Nguyen blocks it.

Pedersen has control of Nguyen's left arm, preventing Nguyen from doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pedersen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nguyen defends it easily.
Nguyen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pedersen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lane Pedersen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Nguyen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pedersen counters with a series of strikes. Nguyen will be more careful next time no doubt.
Nguyen lands a nice looking body shot.
No joy there for Pedersen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pedersen lands a jab-cross combination.
Pedersen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nguyen throws out the jab.
Pedersen moves out of range of the strikes.

Pedersen lands with a nice combination. Nguyen backs away looking to recover.
Nguyen throws the left hand but Pedersen avoids the punch easily.
Pedersen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nguyen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Pedersen is breathing heavily.
Pedersen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pedersen wants to control from the top but Nguyen keeps moving.
Pedersen tries to stand but Nguyen is controlling from the bottom.

Pedersen is looking to work some ground and pound but Nguyen has wrist control.

Pedersen drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Pedersen seems to have locked his on tight now - Nguyen screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Pedersen, as he picks up the win!
