Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gomi sprawls well initially but Emelianenko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gomi is not content to let Emelianenko control the position.
Gomi has hold of Emelianenko's hands but Emelianenko slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gomi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Emelianenko pulls his head out easily.
Gomi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Gomi looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Emelianenko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gomi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Emelianenko might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gomi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Emelianenko is stalling here. Gomi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Emelianenko seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gomi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Emelianenko is trying to control Gomi's posture but Gomi avoids it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gomi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Aleksander Emelianenko has been cut.

Emelianenko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gomi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Emelianenko somewhat.
Emelianenko looks gassed!
Gomi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Aleksander Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Gomi.
Gomi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Emelianenko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Emelianenko throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Gomi is refusing to be controlled, as Emelianenko sits in half guard.
Emelianenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gomi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gomi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Emelianenko frees his head nicely. Oh but Gomi has switched to an armbar! Emelianenko is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
