Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George St Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Norris!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris swats away the attempt to clinch by St Pierre.
Norris missing with a left hand there. St Pierre was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

St Pierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - St Pierre lands in his opponent's guard.
Norris wants to get back to his feet but St Pierre is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Norris can do anything to dispel that myth.
St Pierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Norris is retaining full guard.

Norris pushes St Pierre off and scrambles back to his feet.
Norris throws a nice looking combination but St Pierre bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

St Pierre clinches with his opponent.

Norris breaks the clinch.
Norris misses with a takedown

so St Pierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Norris keeping full guard, as St Pierre tries to pass.

St Pierre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and St Pierre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Norris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with St Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
St Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Norris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Norris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Norris is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

St Pierre thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

St Pierre drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Norris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now St Pierre has Norris in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Norris wants to pass the guard but St Pierre is keeping the position.
Norris looks gassed!
Norris trying to control the position from guard on top but St Pierre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norris loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

St Pierre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Norris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

St Pierre is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Norris defends well.
Norris content to stall in guard here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
St Pierre keeping moving, preventing Norris from controlling successfully.

St Pierre has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Norris should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, St Pierre has tightened it up now! Norris should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
