Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shane Carwin Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rock Wood!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood stalks Carwin Jr and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carwin Jr's face. Carwin Jr staggers backwards, shaken.
Carwin Jr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Wood gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wood swings wildly with an uppercut but Carwin Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wood doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Wood stops a takedown attempt from Carwin Jr.
Carwin Jr is working for takedown but Wood is calmly controlling the position for now.
Carwin Jr is trying to drag Wood to the mat but Wood just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Carwin Jr. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wood will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wood uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Carwin Jr has time to react.
Oh Carwin Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wood lands a left and a right that send Carwin Jr crashing to the mat, dazed. Wood thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wood stuns Carwin Jr with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carwin Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Carwin Jr seems to have got his legs back now.
Wood closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Wood tries to clinch but Carwin Jr is having none of it.
Wood fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Carwin Jr on the side of the head.
Wood connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Carwin Jr's hands.
Wood is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Carwin Jr had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carwin Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wood sprawls well. Wood wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carwin Jr gets slowly back to his feet.
