Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Harvalik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Vlay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan Harvalik could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marco Vlay's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Harvalik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marco Vlay! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vlay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harvalik pinned against the cage. Harvalik gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vlay shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vlay showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are battling for position here. Harvalik manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Harvalik manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vlay manages to get himself to full guard.
Harvalik got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vlay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harvalik has managed to get both his arms back between Vlay's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harvalik thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Vlay had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Harvalik defends it easily. Vlay looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vlay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Harvalik is aware though and is defending well. Harvalik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vlay dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vlay stopping the sweep attempt from Harvalik. Harvalik lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vlay! Harvalik looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Harvalik has control of Vlay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Vlay regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Vlay tries to get back to half guard but can't. Harvalik goes for an armbar but Vlay turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Vlay. Harvalik is breathing heavily. Harvalik looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vlay trying to control but Harvalik is working from the bottom. Vlay passes into half guard. Harvalik is trying to get back to full guard. Vlay stands up out of the half guard. Vlay tries to clinch up. Vlay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Vlay is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Harvalik has escaped the position, nice work there. Harvalik is not content to let Vlay control the position.

Vlay thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Vlay tries to advance to mount but Harvalik denies him. Vlay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harvalik keeps working. Harvalik sneaks back into half guard. Vlay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Harvalik is trying to get back to full guard. Harvalik moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Harvalik wants to sweep here but Vlay controlling him for the moment. Vlay wants to control from the top but Harvalik keeps moving. Vlay bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Vlay wants to control from the top but Harvalik keeps moving. Vlay must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Harvalik bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vlay's guard. Vlay working a defensive guard here.

Vlay is controlling Harvalik's posture. Harvalik wants to pass the guard but Vlay is keeping the position. Vlay controls Harvalik momentarily but Harvalik frees himself. Vlay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harvalik doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harvalik manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vlay is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vlay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harvalik pinned against the cage. Harvalik gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vlay tries to close the distance and clinch but Harvalik swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Good leg kick by Vlay there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Horrible takedown by Vlay or perhaps it was just good defense by Harvalik which made him look bad. Harvalik fails with the takedown and Vlay counters with a nice low kick that buckles Harvalik's knee momentarily. Vlay lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Vlay has his takedown stuffed and Harvalik counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vlay's guard now. Jan Harvalik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Vlay. Vlay looking to control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jan Harvalik will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vlay, right into the meat.
Vlay shoots and misses and Harvalik counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Harvalik is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vlay is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vlay has escaped and now he's on top! Vlay loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Vlay preventing the sweep. Vlay drops back looking for a leg! Harvalik is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harvalik manages to kick Vlay off! Vlay jumps back into Harvalik's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harvalik is trying to keep Vlay in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vlay passes Harvalik's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Vlay trying to control from half guard but Harvalik is working away. Harvalik wants to get back to full guard. Vlay is working for a kimura but Harvalik is defending it quite comfortably.
Jan Harvalik overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vlay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
