Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Curcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fidel Castroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Igor Curcic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fidel Castroy!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curcic is looking to slow Castroy down with leg kicks.
Curcic tries to clinch up but Castroy circles away and keeps his distance.

Castroy gets a clinch.
Curcic has had enough of the clinch but Castroy keeps him there for the moment.

Castroy lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Curcic manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Curcic trying to keep a closed guard but Castroy is proving a slippery customer.

Castroy gets to his feet. Curcic looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Castroy tries to clinch up
and Curcic counters with a head kick.
Castroy tries to close the distance and clinch but Curcic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Curcic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Castroy drives through and clinches with Curcic against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Castroy stops a takedown attempt from Curcic.

Castroy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Curcic swats away the attempt to clinch by Castroy.

Castroy gets the takedown into side control.
Castroy lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Curcic sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Castroy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Curcic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Castroy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Castroy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Castroy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Castroy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castroy stops Curcic from getting back to his feet.
Curcic is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Curcic won't allow Castroy to pass to mount.
Curcic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Castroy gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
No joy there for Castroy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Castroy clinches with his opponent.
Curcic wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Castroy.
Castroy lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Castroy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Curcic uses from the top position.
Curcic stops Castroy from standing up.
Curcic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Curcic with a flurry of punches that miss.
Curcic trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Castroy is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Curcic trying to control but Castroy is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Castroy clinches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Castroy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Castroy lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Curcic or not.
Castroy lands with a short shot to the head.
Stalling in the clinch from Castroy.

Castroy manages to break the clinch.

Castroy closes the distance and clinches.
A shot in the inside from Castroy.
Castroy lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Curcic's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Castroy drops Curcic onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Curcic is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!


Curcic is rocked!
Castroy lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Curcic to his knees! Castroy keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fidel Castroy!
