PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Udarchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Zabrawski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Udarchenko looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonas Zabrawski!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zabrawski misses with a wild combination.
Udarchenko looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Nice sprawl there from Udarchenko as Zabrawski shoots in.

Zabrawski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Horrible takedown by Zabrawski or perhaps it was just good defense by Udarchenko which made him look bad.

Zabrawski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Udarchenko was covering up waiting for the punch and Zabrawski finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Zabrawski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Udarchenko is trying to defend but Zabrawski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Let's hope that Zabrawski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Udarchenko has managed to clinch.
Udarchenko has Zabrawski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zabrawski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Zabrawski is trying to trip Udarchenko. He has hold of a leg but Udarchenko is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Zabrawski persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Jonas Zabrawski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

You can see the frustration on Zabrawski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jonas Zabrawski just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Zabrawski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Udarchenko napping and manages to drive through into side control!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
