Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedrinho Matador! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Yared! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yared shoots in and drives through. Matador sprawls well. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Yared fails with a takedown attempt. Matador doesn't manage to clinch there - Yared circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Matador as Yared shoots in. Pedrinho Matador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renato Yared. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yared shoots in but no luck this time. Yared closes the distance and clinches up with Matador, looking for a takedown. Yared is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Matador is just riding it out for now. Yared eventually gives up the hold. Yared is working for a kimura but Matador is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Matador is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Yared pulls his head out easily. Yared is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Matador is just riding it out for now. Yared eventually gives up the hold. Yared trying to mount his opponent but Matador defends it. Matador is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Yared pulls his head out easily. Yared prevents Matador from improving his position. Yared is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Yared working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Matador is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yared has hold of Matador's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Matador tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Yared cranks the arm and Matador screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Matador, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
