Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noah Spitler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruffus Raucus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Spitler finds it's way through Raucus's defenses. Raucus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Spitler.

Raucus works over Spitler's head and body with a nice combination. Raucus on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Spitler throws a big shot that misses. Spitler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Raucus was well out of range. Poor timing from Spitler. Spitler throws a body punch but Raucus moves out of range. Nice takedown defense from Raucus. No joy for Spitler on that attempt. Raucus is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spitler. Raucus misses with a combination

That's one minute gone in the round. Spitler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raucus tries to avoid it but Spitler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raucus to the ground. Raucus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noah Spitler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Spitler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Spitler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Spitler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Spitler drops back looking for a leg! Raucus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Raucus manages to kick Spitler off! Spitler jumps back into Raucus's guard. Raucus is trying to control the position but Spitler postures up. Raucus looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Spitler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Spitler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raucus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Spitler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Spitler is breathing heavily. Raucus is pulling down on Spitler's head to control his posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Spitler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Raucus pinned against the cage. Raucus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Raucus fails with an attempt to clinch.
Spitler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Raucus. A big right from Spitler misses. Raucus slips a jab and a cross from Spitler.

Raucus lands the left hand. Spitler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Raucus manages to avoid it. Raucus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spitler moves away. A right-left combo lands from Spitler.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spitler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Raucus tries to clinch up. Spitler misses with a takedown attempt - Raucus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A combination from Raucus does no damage. Spitler throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Raucus's head. Spitler takes a swing at Raucus's ribcage but misses. Jab, jab by Spitler - just one landing. Spitler fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Spitler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Raucus pinned against the cage. Raucus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Spitler shoots in looking for a takedown. Raucus tries to sprawl out of it but Spitler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Raucus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ruffus Raucus dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Spitler throws out a leg kick but Raucus moves out of range and Spitler only half commits. Raucus misses with a straight right. Raucus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spitler was well out of range. Poor timing from Raucus. Raucus avoids the body shot from Spitler.
Raucus throws a half hearted mid kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Spitler. Raucus is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Spitler is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Spitler is working for a kimura but Raucus is defending it quite comfortably.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spitler is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Raucus sees it coming and defends easily. Spitler is working for a submission of some sort.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spitler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Raucus defends it well. Raucus is looking for a sweep. Spitler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Spitler is working for a submission of some sort.

Uppercuts and crosses smash into Raucus's face. Raucus staggers backwards, shaken. Raucus misses with a looping right. Raucus throws a jab but it's blocked by Spitler. Raucus lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Spitler slips a jab and a cross from Raucus.

and Spitler counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Raucus lands a left and a right that send Spitler crashing to the mat, dazed. Raucus thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Noah Spitler has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Raucus lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Raucus scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Spitler doesn't seem bothered though. A head kick misses from Raucus. Raucus throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Spitler crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
