Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Aloha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Soon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Aloha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kim Soon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aloha fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Soon sprawls well initially but Aloha persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Aloha wants to take a breather but Soon is having none of it.

Aloha is trying to work for a kimura but Soon is defending well.
Aloha trying to mount his opponent but Soon defends it.
Soon is staying active underneath Aloha, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Aloha is looking for a kimura but Soon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aloha to get the leverage.
Aloha wants to take a breather but Soon is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aloha jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Soon manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Aloha is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Soon has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Soon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
