The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hilk is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vanhos's half guard.
Hilk content to control rather than advance.
Hilk with the ground and pound but Vanhos uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Vanhos looking for a guillotine here but Hilk defends easily.
Hilk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vanhos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vanhos is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hilk rolls with it to try and escape but Vanhos cranks on the arm and Hilk is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
