Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between MJ Jakovina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gideon Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gideon Kane will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gideon Kane! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kane wants it to stay on the feet. MJ Jakovina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jakovina tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kane swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kane with a hook. Jakovina pushes Kane up against the cage in a clinch. Jakovina wants a takedown.

Jakovina is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kane wants to stand but Jakovina is controlling the position. Jakovina cracks Kane with a solid left hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jakovina controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Jakovina is pushing down on Kane's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jakovina moves in looking to clinch but Kane pushes him off. Jakovina feints and as Kane raises his hands in defense, Jakovina changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jakovina not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kane kicks Jakovina off and gets to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jakovina. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for MJ Jakovina. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jakovina moves in looking to clinch but Kane pushes him off. Jakovina shoots for a takedown but Kane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jakovina seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kane for as long as he can get away with. MJ Jakovina is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kane looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! MJ Jakovina showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jakovina, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
