The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez fails with a takedown attempt.
Riley scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mendez looks gassed!
Mendez shoots for a double leg takedown but Riley sprawls well. He's pushed Mendez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Riley lands with an overhand left.
It looks like Horhe Mendez has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Riley lands a right hook to the body.
Riley drops his shoulder and cracks Mendez with a huge uppercut! Mendez goes down! Can Riley finish him?
Mendez is rocked!
Riley arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Mendez's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
