Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poopdeck PJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goins comes to the cage accompanied by Jesus Walks. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leroy Goins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Poopdeck PJ!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Goins.
Nice straight punches there by Goins. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Goins.
Goins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
PJ closes the distance and clinches up with Goins, looking for a takedown. PJ pushes Goins against the cage but Goins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice jab there from Goins.
PJ shoots in but Goins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
PJ takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
PJ throws out a loose jab but Goins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Goins tests PJ's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Goins has managed to clinch.
Goins lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt PJ or not.

Goins has PJ pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Goins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending PJ tumbling to the mat - Goins dives into PJ's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Goins sitting in guard here, content to control.
Goins slips nicely into half guard.
PJ on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Goins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Goins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Goins missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

PJ has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goins is working away from the top position though.
Goins wants to control but PJ is keeping him busy.

Goins lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Goins is stalling here. PJ is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Goins seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and PJ has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Goins sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
PJ looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Goins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

PJ performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
PJ thows a huge punch but Goins dodges it nicely.
Goins is looking to control PJ's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Goins avoid being mounted?
PJ wants to lay and pray for a moment but Goins keeps working.
Goins trying to control but PJ postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


PJ takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Goins cracks PJ with a good jab.
Goins buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
PJ looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Goins is fending him off so far but PJ persists. Nope, Goins circles away and we're back to standing.
Goins lands with a shot to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from PJ misses the target.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Goins.
PJ takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Goins connects with a single shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Goins lands with a hook. PJ tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Goins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. PJ is trying to defend but Goins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
PJ is breathing heavily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Goins looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
PJ keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Goins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Goins trying to control the action but PJ is working from the bottom.
Goins thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing PJ to regain full guard.
Goins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Goins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. PJ is keeping the position for now.
PJ bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Goins's guard.

Goins is looking for a triangle but PJ pushes his legs off easily.
PJ trying to control the position from guard on top but Goins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
PJ pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Goins is keeping the position for now.
Goins keeping moving, preventing PJ from controlling successfully.

PJ preventing the sweep.
PJ is pushing down on Goins's leg trying to pass to half guard. Goins is fighting to maintain full guard but PJ has managed to sneak the leg through.
Goins gets back to full guard.

Goins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. PJ defends it easily.

Goins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Goins trying to keep a closed guard but PJ is proving a slippery customer.
PJ trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Goins manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goins distracts PJ with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Goins throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Goins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping PJ at a distance.
PJ drops his hands momentarily and Goins takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

PJ scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Goins is trying to get back to full guard.
Goins trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Goins is in all sorts of trouble here.
PJ looking to control but Goins is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Goins is looking to improve his position but PJ isn't that keen on the idea.
Goins slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

PJ is trying to control the action in half guard but Goins is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

PJ is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
PJ is trying to control. Goins wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
PJ takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
PJ tries to pass the half guard into mount. Goins knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Goins wants to control but PJ is keeping busy.
PJ trying to control from half guard but Goins is working away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
PJ on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A jab from Goins does it's job there.
PJ ducks right into an uppercut from Goins.

Goins scores a takedown into full mount!
PJ is trying to escape the mount.
Goins trying to control but PJ is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Goins has control of PJ's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and PJ regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Leroy Goins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Goins throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for PJ because Goins loaded up on that one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
PJ wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Goins.
PJ tries to reverse the position but Goins maintains control.
Poopdeck PJ has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
PJ is squirming around, avoiding Goins's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Goins postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. PJ looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight!
Leroy Goins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Goins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
