Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luca Trinita! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris White! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by White. Trinita wants to control but White postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trinita tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but White wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. White working away. White is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Trinita has escaped the position, nice work there. White is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Trinita knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. White avoids the strikes from the bottom by Trinita. Trinita is looking to reverse the position. Trinita can't do much from the bottom here. Trinita is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trinita is trying to work for a sweep but White has mounted him! White goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Trinita is on top in guard.
White looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Trinita has picked White up and slammed him! White can't keep hold of the triangle and Trinita manages to pass to side control! White is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Trinita's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Trinita wants to control but White is keeping him busy. White is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Trinita's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Trinita's back! Will White go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Trinita is breathing heavily. Trinita has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. White is looking for the choke from the back position but Trinita is controlling his hands well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trinita trying to control the hands but White won't let him. Trinita defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Trinita is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Trinita rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
White wants to free his trapped foot but Trinita is holding on for dear life with his legs. White wants to take a breather but Trinita is having none of it. White passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. White goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Trinita is on top in guard.
White lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Trinita! White looking to isolate an arm here. Trinita doesn't see it coming and as White extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by White!
