Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pedricio Warum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matthew Cole!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warum fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cole shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Warum is trying to defend but Cole finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Cole should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Cole content to control rather than advance.
Cole tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Warum.
Cole trying to control from half guard but Warum is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warum makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Warum.
Cole looking to sit in guard and control but Warum gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cole thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Cole wants to sweep here but Warum controlling him for the moment.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cole can't keep his opponent in guard - Warum advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Warum decides to stand and escape the position.
Cole is trying hard to land a takedown here. Warum sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Warum moves out of range of the body kick.

Cole rushes Warum and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cole has eaten all the pies!

Cole escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Warum stuffs the takedown.
Cole looks gassed!
Warum blocks a head kick by Cole.
Cole throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Warum circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cole shoots for a double leg takedown but Warum sprawls well. He's pushed Cole's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pedricio Warum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Cole.
Warum shoots in for a takedown but Cole shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters circling - Cole throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Warum throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Warum counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Warum moves nicely into side control.

Warum drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Warum makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Warum seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Warum will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cole is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Warum is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cole looking to control but Warum passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Warum shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Warum prevents Cole from getting the reversal.
Cole tries to lock up and control but Warum gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cole is desperately trying to improve his position but Warum has a good base and remains in mount.
Warum controlling the pace for now.
Cole is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Warum controlling his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cole is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Warum get's back to his feet.
Cole misses with a takedown attempt

and Warum counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Warum looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cole is trying to escape back to his feet but Warum uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Cole is trying to improve his position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Cole tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Warum wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cole really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Warum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Cole tries to get to full guard but Warum has control of the leg.

Warum perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cole is looking to control Warum's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cole avoid being mounted?
Warum wants to control but Cole is keeping him busy.
Cole is looking for a sweep. Warum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cole tries to roll over but Warum keeps him under control.
Warum trying to control the pace.
Cole is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Warum is looking to clinch.
Cole stuns Warum with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Cole tries for a takedown but Warum circles away easily

and Warum counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cole!

Warum looking to control but Cole is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pedricio Warum overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Warum putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Warum with shots to the head and body - Cole looks very uncomfortable down there.
Cole is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Warum lands a nice shot to the head.
Cole is trying to escape the mount.

Warum takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cole sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Cole tries to kick Warum off but Warum keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Warum in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cole is looking to escape.
Cole is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Warum controlling the pace.
Matthew Cole has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pedricio Warum is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Warum's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Warum, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
