PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Bosse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Bosse!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bosse keeping moving, preventing Coleman from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bosse is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Coleman gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Bosse is looking for a sweep. Coleman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bosse is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bosse keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Coleman is trying to work for a kimura but Bosse is defending well.
Coleman throwing shots but Bosse is blocking nicely.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Coleman lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coleman seems to be looking for submissions.
Coleman trying to advance position but Bosse counters by regaining guard.
Bosse is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Coleman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Bosse throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bosse shoots and misses

and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bosse won't be happy with that.
Bosse tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coleman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Coleman prevents Bosse from escaping the position.
Check out the look on Coleman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Coleman is putting a hurting on Bosse here, landing some big shots from side control.

Coleman is trying to get an arm triangle but Bosse is defending well.

Coleman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Coleman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bosse doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Coleman.

Coleman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bosse defends it well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bosse is staying active underneath Coleman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bosse trying to control but Coleman postures up.
Bosse is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Coleman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Coleman's back!
Coleman's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Bosse's hands.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Coleman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bosse is trying to break the clinch but Coleman is controlling him.
Bosse fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bosse gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Coleman.
Bosse jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Coleman walks away with a smile on his face. Bosse gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Coleman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bosse is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coleman defends well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bosse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Coleman swivels and escapes.
Mark Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Bosse.
Coleman tries to clinch but Bosse is having none of it.

Coleman wants the takedown. Bosse is fighting it off but Coleman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bosse's guard against the cage.

Bosse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Coleman!
Coleman tries to buck Bosse off but Bosse takes his back!
What can Coleman do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Coleman looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Bosse lands punches and elbows.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Coleman tries to get to full guard but Bosse has control of the leg.

Coleman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Bosse misses with a head kick.

Coleman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Coleman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bosse is trying to stand.
Ground and pound from Coleman.
Coleman tries to pass to full mount but Bosse defends it.
Bosse is looking to escape.

Coleman is working for a kimura but Bosse is defending it quite comfortably.
Coleman throwing shots but Bosse is blocking nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bosse is pressing down on Coleman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Coleman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Mark Coleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bosse doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Coleman counters by clinching up.
Coleman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bosse avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Bosse.
Bosse tries to pull guard but Coleman won't allow it.

Coleman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bosse shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Coleman counters with a shoot takedown. Bosse fights it but they end up in guard.
Mark Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Bosse.

Bosse escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Coleman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Coleman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bosse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Coleman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bosse wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Coleman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bosse!
Bosse tries to lock up and control but Coleman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bosse is trying desperately to improve position.
Bosse regains half guard.
Coleman passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bosse!
Bosse throwing hammer fists to the chest of Coleman. What's that going to do exactly?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Coleman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bosse's face.
Bosse gets back to half guard.
Bosse is looking to improve his position.

Bosse looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bosse is pressing down on Coleman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Coleman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bosse's head.
Bosse controls Coleman momentarily but Coleman frees himself.
Bosse wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Coleman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Coleman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
