Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between String Emil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Mirrer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mirrer has chosen Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana as his entrance music. Paul Mirrer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Mirrer!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emil pushes Mirrer up against the cage in a clinch.
Mirrer goes for a takedown attempt but Emil pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mirrer shoots in and drives through. Emil sprawls well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emil tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mirrer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Emil somewhat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mirrer can do anything to dispel that myth.

so Emil counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Emil lands a couple of digs.
Mirrer wants to sweep but no luck.

Emil stands up and waves to Mirrer to follow him.

Emil shoots in looking for a takedown. Mirrer tries to sprawl out of it but Emil keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mirrer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that String Emil will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mirrer lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Emil has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Emil and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

I think Mirrer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
