Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angel Di Maria! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Edwin Van Der Sar! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Der Sar circles away from the clinch attempt.
Di Maria pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Van Der Sar takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Di Maria is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Di Maria throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Van Der Sar's head. Di Maria misses with a body shot.
Di Maria thows a body shot but no joy. Van Der Sar lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Di Maria circles away quickly and effectively. Di Maria tries to clinch but Van Der Sar moves out of range. Di Maria throws a looping overhand right but Van Der Sar ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Di Maria moves in looking to clinch but Van Der Sar pushes him off. Van Der Sar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Di Maria moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Di Maria lets loose with a powerful body kick. Van Der Sar will feel that in the morning. Di Maria misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Angel Di Maria seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Di Maria uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Van Der Sar.
Di Maria tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Van Der Sar paws at him with a jab and circles away. Di Maria drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Di Maria content to stall in guard here. Di Maria trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Der Sar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Di Maria slips nicely into half guard. Di Maria wants to control but Van Der Sar is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Di Maria stops Van Der Sar from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Di Maria is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Van Der Sar has managed to free his arm - good work. Di Maria wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Di Maria slows the pace down in half guard. Di Maria is keen to just control but Van Der Sar is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Angel Di Maria dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Van Der Sar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Di Maria tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Van Der Sar swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Di Maria. Di Maria fails with an attempt to clinch.
Di Maria feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Di Maria wants to control from the top but Van Der Sar keeps moving. Di Maria seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Di Maria keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Van Der Sar's head. Di Maria pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Van Der Sar is keeping the position for now. Van Der Sar wants to stand but Di Maria is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Di Maria passes Van Der Sar's left leg - he's now in half guard. Di Maria takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Van Der Sar is trying to stand.
Di Maria is keen to just control but Van Der Sar is a slippery customer. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Angel Di Maria just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Van Der Sar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Angel Di Maria dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Van Der Sar lands a jab-cross combination. Di Maria shoots in for a takedown but Van Der Sar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Van Der Sar throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Di Maria closes this distance looking for a takedown but Van Der Sar circles away. Di Maria takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Di Maria changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Van Der Sar tries to avoid it but Di Maria manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Van Der Sar to the ground. Van Der Sar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angel Di Maria. That's going to take a lot out of him. Van Der Sar blocks the body kick.
Di Maria misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Der Sar throws a one two combo.
Di Maria throws a sloppy head kick and Van Der Sar moves out of range easily. Van Der Sar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Van Der Sar lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Di Maria at a distance.
Di Maria wants to clinch up but Van Der Sar keeps it at a distance. Van Der Sar keeps the fight on the outside. Van Der Sar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Di Maria. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Di Maria pushes Van Der Sar away with a front kick. Edwin Van Der Sar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Der Sar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Di Maria's hands. A thudding body kick lands there by Di Maria!
Angel Di Maria is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Di Maria looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Di Maria winds up and cracks Van Der Sar with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Di Maria throwing shots but Van Der Sar is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Di Maria is looking to take a break and control but Van Der Sar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Di Maria works his way into full mount! Van Der Sar blocking the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Di Maria lands a nice shot to the head. Di Maria is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Van Der Sar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Di Maria controlling from the full mount. Van Der Sar is squirming around, avoiding Di Maria's attempts to control the action. Angel Di Maria is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Di Maria lands with some strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Edwin Van Der Sar. I think Di Maria has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
