The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson circles away from the clinch attempt.

Wilson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Troyer is trying to defend but Wilson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Troyer is trying to control but can't.
Troyer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Troyer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wilson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Troyer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wilson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Troyer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Troyer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Troyer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Wilson throws and elbow that misses. Troyer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wilson's guard. Nice move by Troyer!
Wilson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Troyer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Troyer forces his way into half guard.
Wilson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Troyer jumps into side control!
Troyer wants to control but Wilson is keeping him busy.

Troyer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wilson to his feet.
Wilson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Troyer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
