Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Kirby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeffrey Timmermans! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirby tries to bum rush Timmermans with a series of wild strikes but Timmermans uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Timmermans tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kirby punishes Timmermans's body with a nice straight punch. Kirby stuffs the takedown attempt from Timmermans. Timmermans gets slowly back to his feet. Kirby closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kirby is pressed up against the cage. Timmermans has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kirby down to the mat. Kirby avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Timmermans wants to clinch and Kirby counters with a lovely shot to the body. Timmermans looks gassed! Kirby shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Timmermans is trying to defend but Kirby finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kirby perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kirby passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Timmermans!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby controlling the pace for now. Kirby is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Timmermans can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Kirby looking to secure an arm triangle but Timmermans defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirby controlling from mount. A nice elbow there by Kirby. Kirby has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Timmermans's face.
Kirby landing strikes from the mount and Timmermans is in trouble! Kirby looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirby thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kirby working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Timmermans looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Kirby! Submission of the night perhaps?
