Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Soenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Morales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marco Morales was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soenn takes a swing at Morales's ribcage but misses. Morales throws a lazy right hand but Soenn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Soenn cracks Morales with a right hand to the side of the head. Soenn tries to close the distance and clinch but Morales swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Soenn takes a swing at Morales's ribcage but misses. Morales moves away from the strike by Soenn. Soenn tries a head kick but it misses.

Soenn has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Soenn tries to grapple but his opponent circles enabling Morales to counter with a crisp jab. Morales throws a right and a left that both miss. Morales tries to clinch but Soenn moves out of range. Soenn moves into the clinch. A short left from Morales. Morales is trying to break free. Morales misses with some punches.

A frustrated look appears on Morales's face as he tries to break the clinch. Soenn lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Morales wants to get back to striking at distance but Soenn won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Morales as he connects with a hook. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Soenn clinches. Morales has had enough of the clinch but Soenn keeps him there for the moment. Morales wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Soenn has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Morales uses from the top position. Soenn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Soenn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Morales wants to stand but Soenn has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Morales is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Morales got a little sloppy there for a moment and Soenn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Morales has managed to get both his arms back between Soenn's legs - danger averted.

Morales has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Soenn to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Morales is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Soenn pulls down on the head and he's put Morales to sleep! This one is all over!
