Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between denis opal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and that guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). denis opal could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to that guy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, denis opal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, that guy!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
opal misses with a head kick.

opal shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. opal showed some decent athleticism there.
guy wants to improve his position but opal is controlling well.
guy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
guy trying to control but opal postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

guy looking for submissions off his back.
opal not landing any meaningful shots this time.
guy works his way to full guard. Good work.
guy wants to sweep here but opal controlling him for the moment.
opal passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

guy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but opal pulls his head out easily.
guy trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but opal manages to pass to mount!
guy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
guy is trying desperately to improve position.
guy throwing hammer fists to the chest of opal. What's that going to do exactly?

opal can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as guy is looking to escape.
guy tries to hold on but opal postures up.
guy tries to reverse the position but opal maintains control.
opal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

opal is working for a guillotine from mount but guy frees his head quite easily.

guy tries to improve his position but instead opal has taken his back!

opal is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. guy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
guy is trying to get back to his feet but opal has full control of the position and if anything, guy has just worked his way into a worse spot.
opal controlling well, preventing guy from escaping the position.
guy covers up after that shot from opal.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
guy is trying to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
opal is trying to stick to guy's back but guy is turning into opal. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in opal's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by guy.
guy is looking to work some ground and pound but opal has wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

guy has his foot on opal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. opal works his way back into a safe position though.

opal tries to free his leg and advance position but guy is retaining full guard.

opal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
opal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. guy is keeping the position for now.
guy striking off his back but it's not causing opal any problems.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
guy circles away from the clinch attempt.
guy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says opal as he avoids it easily.
denis opal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of that guy.

opal drives through and clinches with guy against the cage.
opal stops a takedown attempt from guy.

opal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - guy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

opal gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows guy to score an easy takedown into full guard.
opal is controlling guy's posture.
guy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

opal had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. guy defends it easily.
opal wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

guy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
guy tries to free his leg and advance position but opal is retaining full guard.
guy is in close to opal's body, working some short punches and elbows.
guy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
opal wants to stand up but guy is controlling him.
opal keeping moving, preventing guy from controlling successfully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
guy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

opal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

guy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, opal has managed to free his arm - good work.

A close second round but that guy will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

guy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. opal avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
opal goes for a takedown in the clinch but guy prevents it.

guy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
guy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and opal counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for guy!

guy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and opal dives on top into guard.

guy trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

guy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. opal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
opal pushing down on guy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Well opal has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
