Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spike Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Scribner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spike Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spike Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Scribner!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Scribner shows good takedown defense.
Scribner throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Scribner misses with a head kick.
Scribner slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Scribner.

Scribner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scribner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scribner stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Scribner moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Eric Scribner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scribner tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scribner to the ground. Scribner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scribner lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scribner.

Scribner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Scribner throws a series of punches but Silva avoids them all with ease.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scribner tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scribner to the ground. Scribner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Scribner throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Eric Scribner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scribner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Silva dives in and grabs Scribner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scribner pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.

Scribner scores with a one two! Silva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Eric Scribner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Scribner throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Spike Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Scribner lands a two punch combo.
Nice takedown defense from Scribner. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Scribner scores with a kick to the midsection.
Scribner throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.

Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Scribner did well to prevent Silva getting side control.

Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Scribner is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scribner makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Scribner leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spike Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva shoots in for a takedown but Scribner shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Scribner lands with a kick to the temple. Silva shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Eric Scribner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Eric Scribner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Scribner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
