Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikolai Kovalchik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Abensur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kovalchik kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Get Big by Dorrough. Mikolai Kovalchik had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikolai Kovalchik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Abensur! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovalchik tries to clinch but Abensur moves out of range. Kovalchik wants to clinch up but Abensur keeps it at a distance. Kovalchik throws a jab but it's blocked by Abensur. Kovalchik throws a lazy right hand but Abensur sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A combination from Abensur does no damage. Both fighters circling a little - Kovalchik finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Abensur wants to clinch but Kovalchik slips to the side and Kovalchik counters with a left to the body. Kovalchik tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Abensur counters with a straight right hand. Abensur listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Kovalchik cracks Abensur with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Kovalchik connects with the punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Abensur is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Abensur takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A swing and a miss from Abensur. Abensur wants to clinch up but Kovalchik keeps it at a distance. Kovalchik is looking to clinch. Abensur throws a sloppy body shot
and Kovalchik counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Abensur pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovalchik wants to clinch but Abensur slips to the side and Abensur counters with a body kick that stops Kovalchik in his tracks momentarily. Nice uppercut lands for Abensur. That snapped Kovalchik's head back.
It looks like Mikolai Kovalchik has been cut. Kovalchik throws a body punch but Abensur moves out of range. Kovalchik tries a head kick but it misses.
Abensur closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kovalchik did well to prevent Abensur getting side control. Kovalchik is in trouble now - Abensur has advanced to mount! Kovalchik wants to get back to his feet.
Abensur cracks Kovalchik with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Abensur has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Abensur in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Abensur throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kovalchik because Abensur loaded up on that one. Abensur prevents Kovalchik from getting the reversal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abensur connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kovalchik is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Abensur lands a heavy elbow. Kovalchik wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Abensur.
Abensur looking to control but Kovalchik is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Abensur thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Kovalchik keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Abensur lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Abensur breaks from Kovalchik's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abensur lands a big elbow.
Mikolai Kovalchik's cut is getting worse. Abensur with shots to the head and body - Kovalchik looks very uncomfortable down there. Abensur has hold of Kovalchik's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kovalchik manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kovalchik is in all sorts of trouble here.
The referee warns Kovalchik that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abensur connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Abensur trying to control but he's not successful this time. Abensur is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Abensur controlling the position easily from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Abensur won't let Kovalchik get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Abensur working Kovalchik over with strikes here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Abensur fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Jeez, Mikolai Kovalchik's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mikolai Kovalchik's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
