The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Selman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Selman showed some decent athleticism there.
Handfort is staying active underneath Selman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Selman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Handfort is trying to stand up here but Selman is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Handfort is looking to improve his position.
Selman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Handfort defending well though.

Selman trying to control the action but Handfort is working from the bottom.
Handfort trying to hold on to Selman's head to control him but Selman postures up.
Selman wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Handfort wants to clinch.
Handfort shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Selman as he avoids it easily.
Selman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Handfort circles away.
Handfort shoots for a double leg takedown but Selman sprawls well. He's pushed Handfort's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Selman clinches.
Selman lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Handfort prevents the takedown attempt.

Selman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Selman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Handfort misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Handfort. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Handfort!

It looks like Lukas Selman has been cut.
Selman takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Handfort shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Selman defends it nicely.
Selman throws an overhand right that lands on Handfort's shoulder, as Handfort tries to avoid the shot.

Handfort closes the distance but Selman moves to the side

and Selman counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Selman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Handfort is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Selman tries for a takedown but Handfort manages to get underhooks.
Selman has Handfort pressed against the cage, preventing Handfort from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Selman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Handfort accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Handfort has hold of Selman's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Selman seems comfortable defending it but Handfort has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Selman is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Selman is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Handfort couldn't care less - he's delighted!
