Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lynard Carlson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manny McMann! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McMann tries to bum rush Carlson with a series of wild strikes but Carlson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. McMann takes a kick to the side of the head. Carlson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Carlson scores with a slapping inside leg kick. McMann misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carlson.
Carlson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Carlson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McMann paws at him with a jab and circles away. McMann misses with a hook. Carlson ducked under it nicely. Carlson wants to clinch up but McMann keeps it at a distance. Carlson tries to clinch up but McMann circles away and keeps his distance. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Carlson.
Lynard Carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carlson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carlson lands a head kick!
Carlson gets a clinch. Carlson tries a knee to the head but McMann blocks it.
Carlson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McMann walks away with a smile on his face. Carlson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Carlson lands a big head kick that sends McMann to the canvas! Carlson follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lynard Carlson!
