Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gesias Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gesias Carneiro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gesias Carneiro! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Carneiro avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Carter takes the fight into the clinch.
Carneiro pulls guard successfully.
Carneiro has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though. Carneiro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Carter stands and steps away. Carneiro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Carneiro gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Carneiro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Carneiro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carter smiles and moves away.

Carter decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Carneiro misses with a takedown and Carter counters with a nice uppercut. Shane Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gesias Carneiro.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Carter with a jab. Some bone on bone action there as Carneiro checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Carter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Carneiro is looking to improve his position.
Carter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carneiro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carneiro is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carter is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Carneiro tries for a takedown but Carter manages to get underhooks.

Carneiro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carter walks away with a smile on his face. Carneiro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Shane Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter stuns Carneiro with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Carter shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Carter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Carneiro slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Carter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter preventing the sweep. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carter wants to pass the guard but Carneiro is keeping the position.

Shane Carter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Carneiro gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Carneiro walks into a left hand. Carneiro takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gesias Carneiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carneiro shoots and misses and Carneiro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Carter misses with the combination.
Carter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Carneiro is trying to get back to full guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Carter controlling the pace. Carter prevents Carneiro from improving his position. Carter stalling. Carter seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Carter prevents Carneiro from improving his position. Carneiro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Carneiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Carter wanted to stand there but Carneiro had control of the position. Shane Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carneiro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carter defends well. Carneiro is breathing heavily.
Carneiro throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carter escapes and throws Carneiro's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Carter stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Carter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Carter is thwarting Carneiro's attempts to control the position. The fighters are battling for position here. Carneiro manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Carneiro is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Carneiro wants to take a breather but Carter is having none of it.

Carneiro is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Carter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Carter wants to get back to his feet.
Carneiro wants to free his trapped foot but Carter is holding on for dear life with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Carter dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Carneiro has his takedown stuffed and Carter counters with a lovely straight right hand! Carter works the jab nicely. Carneiro doesn't succeed with the takedown
so Carter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Carter looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Carneiro looking for a sweep. Not yet Carneiro, not yet. Carter wants to get up but he can't break Carneiro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Carter stays in close to Carneiro's body and controls the position. Carter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carneiro for as long as he can get away with.

Carneiro has instead reached around Carter's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Carneiro arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
