Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thipa Vanhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thipa Vanhos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Mott! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mott tries to close the distance and clinch but Vanhos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Mott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vanhos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mott somewhat. Vanhos shoots and misses and Mott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mott. Mott wants to control from the top but Vanhos keeps moving. Mott with a flurry of punches that miss. Mott throwing strikes from guard but Vanhos blocks nicely. Mott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vanhos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mott has managed to get both his arms back between Vanhos's legs - danger averted. Mott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vanhos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mott has Vanhos in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mott throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Vanhos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vanhos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vanhos drops back looking for a leg! Mott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mott manages to kick Vanhos off! Vanhos jumps back into Mott's guard. Mott wants to sweep here but Vanhos controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vanhos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vanhos drops back looking for a leg! Mott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mott manages to kick Vanhos off! Vanhos jumps back into Mott's guard. Vanhos is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Vanhos prevents Mott from getting back to his feet. Mott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Vanhos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vanhos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mott scores a takedown into full mount! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mott wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mott looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mott working for a submission but Vanhos is keeping him at bay. Mott looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Mott landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mott goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vanhos is on top in guard.
Mott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vanhos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vanhos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vanhos drops back looking for a leg! Mott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mott manages to kick Vanhos off! Vanhos jumps back into Mott's guard. Mott is adopting a defensive guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Mott dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mott fails with the takedown and Vanhos counters with a takedown into side control. Mott wants to get back to his feet. Vanhos swings around for an armbar but Mott sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vanhos's guard. Mott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vanhos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vanhos has escaped and now he's on top! Vanhos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. John Mott has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vanhos is controlling him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Vanhos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vanhos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vanhos is pushing down on Mott's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mott is fighting to maintain full guard but Vanhos has managed to sneak the leg through. Mott actively working from the bottom here. Mott wants to control but Vanhos is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mott looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Vanhos is trying for a kimura here. Mott looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Vanhos wins by kimura!
