PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thipa Vanhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mott tries to close the distance and clinch but Vanhos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Mott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vanhos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mott somewhat.
Vanhos shoots and misses

and Mott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mott.
Mott wants to control from the top but Vanhos keeps moving.

Mott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vanhos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mott has managed to get both his arms back between Vanhos's legs - danger averted.

Mott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vanhos manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mott has Vanhos in his guard.

Vanhos drops back looking for a leg! Mott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mott manages to kick Vanhos off! Vanhos jumps back into Mott's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vanhos prevents Mott from getting back to his feet.

Mott goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vanhos is on top in guard.
