Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Pozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Lakovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Pozzi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sasha Lakovic! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lakovic moves in looking to clinch but Pozzi pushes him off. Pozzi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Pozzi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lakovic. Pozzi tries to clinch but Lakovic moves out of range. Pozzi takes one to the chin there. Pozzi has closed the distance and engaged Lakovic in a clinch.
Lakovic lands a left hand that snaps the head of Pozzi backwards. Lakovic doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lakovic lands a body shot in the clinch.
Lakovic fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The referee is keeping an eye on Pozzi - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Pozzi fails to pull guard.
Pozzi pulls guard successfully.
Lakovic drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pozzi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lakovic has Pozzi in his guard. Lakovic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Lakovic is looking to take a break and control but Pozzi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pozzi tries to get to full guard but Lakovic has control of the leg. Pozzi is trying to stand up here but Lakovic is controlling him well. Pozzi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pozzi. Lakovic drops back looking for a leg! Pozzi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pozzi manages to kick Lakovic off! Lakovic jumps back into Pozzi's guard. Lakovic trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lakovic throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lakovic trying to control but Pozzi is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Pozzi misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pozzi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Lakovic lands a jab to the head.
Lakovic scores with a jab. Pozzi acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Pozzi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A slow jab from Pozzi misses its intended target. Lakovic showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pozzi.
Lakovic uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pozzi.
Pozzi cracks Lakovic with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lakovic misses with a body shot.
Pozzi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lakovic circles away quickly and effectively. Ricardo Pozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lakovic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pozzi paws at him with a jab and circles away. No joy there for Pozzi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A shot to de liver by Lakovic. Beautiful body shot. A punch combination from Pozzi misses. Lakovic lands with an overhand left. Lakovic digs a good hook to Pozzi's body.

Pozzi misses with a jab to the body
and Lakovic cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lakovic slips under a jab. Lakovic scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Pozzi slips a jab and a cross from Lakovic.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lakovic tries to clinch but fails miserably and Pozzi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lakovic thinking. Pozzi walks into a stiff left hand from Lakovic. Pozzi throws a hook but Lakovic avoids it easily. Lakovic slips under a jab. Lakovic lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Lakovic dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pozzi. That did some damage! A jab lands there for Lakovic. Lakovic shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pozzi napping and manages to drive through into side control! Lakovic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pozzi has escaped the position, nice work there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lakovic throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pozzi is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sasha Lakovic dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Lakovic slips under a jab from Pozzi. Decent striking displayed by Lakovic there. Lakovic lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Lakovic connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Pozzi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lakovic makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Lakovic thuds his right hand into Pozzi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Pozzi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Pozzi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lakovic. Pozzi throws a lazy right hand but Lakovic sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pozzi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lakovic scores with a one two! Pozzi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Pozzi misses with a body punch
and Lakovic counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pozzi's guard now. Pozzi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Lakovic pushes down on Pozzi's leg and manages to get into half guard. Lakovic is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pozzi sees it coming and defends easily. Lakovic is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Pozzi as he works his way to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozzi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pozzi not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lakovic controlling the position for now. Pozzi performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Pozzi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lakovic keeps working. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lakovic can do anything to dispel that myth. Lakovic wants to get back to full guard. Lakovic is controlling Pozzi's position as best he can from this difficult position. Lakovic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pozzi trying to control the action but Lakovic is working from the bottom. Lakovic avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pozzi. It looks like Pozzi is going to stand back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lakovic steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pozzi. Lakovic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Let's see if he can advance position further. Lakovic is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pozzi tries to get to full guard but Lakovic has control of the leg. Pozzi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lakovic slips a nice elbow through Pozzi's hands, connecting with Pozzi's forehead. Pozzi wants to get back to his feet.
Lakovic looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sasha Lakovic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Pozzi swings away with a body shot that misses

Lakovic stopping the sweep attempt from Pozzi. Pozzi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lakovic. Lakovic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lakovic got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pozzi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lakovic has managed to get both his arms back between Pozzi's legs - danger averted. Lakovic sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pozzi's guard. Pozzi wants to get back to full guard. Ground and pound from Lakovic. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lakovic wants to work for an arm triangle but Pozzi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pozzi wants to control from the top but Lakovic keeps moving. Pozzi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lakovic is trying to control the position but Pozzi postures up. Lakovic is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Lakovic being controlled here, momentarily. Pozzi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Lakovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pozzi trying to control but Lakovic is working from the bottom. Pozzi looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ricardo Pozzi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lakovic has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Sasha Lakovic has got the better of the ground game so far. Lakovic wants to sweep but no luck.
And that's the end of the fight! Sasha Lakovic comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lakovic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
