The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lessa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Horrible takedown by Lessa or perhaps it was just good defense by Barros which made him look bad.

Paulo Lessa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lessa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barros manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lessa has Barros in his guard.

Barros wants to get up but he can't break Lessa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Barros got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lessa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barros has managed to get both his arms back between Lessa's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
