Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kelvin Shum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Owen Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shum.
Brooks looks to land a combination but Shum avoids it well.
Shum drops Brooks with a nice combination! Shum dives into Brooks's guard, looking to finish!


Brooks is rocked!
Shum trying to control the position from guard on top but Brooks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brooks is still in real trouble! Can Shum finish him?
Brooks wants to get back to his feet but Shum is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Brooks seems to have recovered his senses.
Shum slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brooks can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Brooks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Shum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brooks swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brooks wants to stand but Shum is controlling the position.
Brooks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shum controls the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kelvin Shum dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Shum connects with a single shot there.
Shum lands with an overhand left.
Brooks looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shum lands a big uppercut and Brooks crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Brooks looks OK.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kelvin Shum just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Shum and Brooks goes tumbling to the canvas! Shum follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Shum looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Brooks is in trouble now - Shum has advanced to mount!

Brooks wants to try and get back to his feet.

Shum seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brooks for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brooks is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kelvin Shum dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Brooks tries to clinch up but Shum circles away and keeps his distance.
Brooks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Shum shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shum was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brooks squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Brooks is in a horrible position here. Shum smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
BOOM! Shum connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Owen Brooks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kelvin Shum just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Brooks throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shum lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Brooks on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Shum lands a nice hook to Brooks's body. Brooks takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Brooks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Crack! Shum connects with the perfect overhand right and Brooks falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Shum!
