Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fred Claus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cletus Kasady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Cletus Kasady was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fred Claus! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cletus Kasady! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy left from Kasady finds it's target. Claus needs to keep his hands up - Kasady had a free shot at his head there. Kasady lands a left and a right that send Claus crashing to the mat, dazed. Kasady thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Claus is rocked!
It looks like Fred Claus has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Claus jabbing away but nothing is landing. Claus drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. The fight moves into the clinch position. Kasady lands a hook to the side of the head. A nice right hand lands inside from Kasady. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kasady. Claus fails to pull guard.
Kasady lands a nice elbow from the clinch. A left hand lands to the body for Kasady.
Claus is breathing heavily. A right hook to the body lands for Kasady.
A short right from Kasady. Kasady throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Kasady lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Claus backwards. Claus avoiding damage as Kasady throws knees to the body.
Kasady breaks the clinch.
Kasady drops Claus with a beautiful combination! Claus stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kasady is looking for the KO! Oh Claus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kasady rushes Claus and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Claus seems to have got his legs back now. Claus jumps guard but Kasady stands there with Claus around his waist. Claus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Claus shoots for a double leg takedown but Kasady sprawls well. He's pushed Claus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Claus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Kasady looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kasady throws a series of punches but Claus avoids them all with ease. Kasady doesn't manage to clinch there - Claus circles away.
Kasady lands a jab. Kasady is looking to clinch. Claus on the wrong end of a nice jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Claus shoots in for a takedown but Kasady shows good takedown defense. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Kasady counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kasady fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kasady slips under a jab from Claus. Kasady bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Claus slips a jab and a cross from Kasady.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kasady closes the distance and lands a one-two. Claus takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Claus stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kasady is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Claus dips to his left and cracks Kasady with an uppercut! Claus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Claus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kasady paws at him with a jab and circles away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Claus misses with a hook to the body
and Kasady counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kasady punishes Claus's body with a nice straight punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Kasady counters with a one-two to the body. Kasady has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kasady wants to clinch. Kasady clinches up with Claus and pushes him back against the cage. Claus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kasady walks away with a smile on his face. Claus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Claus wants to clinch but Kasady slips to the side and Kasady counters by clinching up.

Kasady lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Kasady digs a right hand into Claus's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Claus's gas tank. A shot in the inside from Kasady. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kasady lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Claus goes for a takedown attempt but Kasady pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kasady is looking to stand up but Claus won't let him. Claus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Claus takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Cletus Kasady is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kasady looks to land a right hand but Claus moved out of range. Kasady tries to clinch but fails miserably and Claus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Claus closes the distance but Kasady moves to the side and Kasady counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Claus swinging wildly here.
